Etsy’s “Give More Than a Gift” campaign focuses on intimate and authentic stories and highlights how relationships impact people and the powerful way a unique gift can say something meaningful to a person. As the TV & Video Content Lead on Etsy’s Brand Team, we worked with 72andSunny to create four beautiful spots for the US and UK markets.

The Tradition shows how a meaningful gift can encourage someone to join in on traditions—old and new. (UK Only)

Bus Stop tells the story of an unlikely bond between two people and a gift that shows gratitude. (US Only)

The Recipe is a story about connection—the gift of a recipe reveals the bonds between mom, daughter, culture, and family. (US Only)

Our Santa is a story about feeling represented and seen through a meaningful gift. (US and UK)

ETSY Olympics campaign

Making of a Maker is an Etsy brand awareness spot appearing during the highly anticipated Summer Olympic Games.

As the TV & Video Content Lead on Etsy’s Brand Team, we worked with 72andSunny to create a beautiful film that celebrates Etsy’s makers/sellers and recognizes the challenges they've had to overcome in the pursuit of their passions. Something that's not dissimilar from the challenges athletes may face throughout their journey to pursue their dreams.

The spot hones in on Etsy’s makers' dedication to their craft, focusing on the skills and technical precision needed to achieve their dreams. And whether they’re throwing clay on a potter's wheel or working the uneven bars, there's no greater moment than achieving mastery in your craft. That's dreamers making their own victory. That's greatness in the making.

The 30 sec spot appeared two weeks leading up to the Olympics and during the span of the Olympic games.

ETSY Q2 TV CAMPAIGN - US and UK

The task: Launch a new, memorable, emotional, and attention-grabbing campaign that powerfully highlights what makes Etsy a uniquely different and better choice than other retailers. Together with 72andSunny, the Etsy Brand Team landed on a powerful question that formed the basis of the campaign. You aren’t boring. So, why buy boring? The Why Buy Boring campaign highlights how the perfect, personalized Etsy items have the unexpected power to connect you with your loved ones and celebrate your personal style.

The campaign ran nationally till June 27, 2021, in the UK and June 30, 2021, in the US, airing across over 75 networks and streaming platforms, including ABC, NBC, Bravo, HGTV, Hulu, ITV, Channel 4, E4, ITV2, as well as paid social channels (FB, Instagram Stories and YouTube).
